Dolly Parton To Release Her First Children’s Album, Proceeds To Be Donated To Library Charity.

Dolly Parton held a press conference in Nashville on Tuesday, announcing plans to release her very first children’s album.

Titled “I Believe In You”, the forthcoming album — to be released digitally on Sept. 29, with the physical CD to drop on Oct. 13 — is described as “her first album written and recorded for kids and those young at heart.” All 14 songs on the album, she revealed, were written and performed by her, and she admitted that a children’s album has been a long time coming.

In addition, Parton also announced that proceeds from the album will be donated to a charity that’s near and dear to her heart: Parton’s own Imagination Library, a book-gifting organization that has mailed millions of age-appropriate books to children in Australia, Belize, Canada, the U.K. and the U.S.
